The announcement of the Session for welcoming the visitation of the ABA officers

Ms. Deborah Enix-Ross, the President of the American Bar Association (hereinafter referred to as "ABA"), and Mr. Steven M. Richman, the ABA Representative to the United Nations and former chair of ABA International Law Section, are scheduled to visit our bar association on March 2nd, 2023.
So, we will hold the following joint session between the American Bar Association and the Tokyo Bar Association at our Bar Building in Tokyo, to welcome these ABA officers.

Diversity & Inclusion and Well-being in the Legal Profession

d) Description

Wellbeing in the profession pre-dated the Covid pandemic. All those involved--lawyers, judges, students, academics, paralegals and others--are affected by the day to day pressures and demands of legal practice. In particular, wellbeing issues also combine with issues relating to diversity and inclusion, and certain groups of people are more dramatically affected. The program will discuss recent surveys and data on ABA's initiatives of diversity & inclusion including wellbeing, as well as addressing solutions that bar associations, law firms and other stakeholders can implement. The ABA's experience will give plenty of good hints to us who are addressing the issues of gender and other diversity in the legal profession in Japan.
